Fall Fashions...

Oh Fall.... crisp weather, warm cider, brilliant colors, pumpkin spice, and, best of all, cute and comfy fashion!

Happy Fall, everyone! I have been waiting for this season! While I love summer as much as the next girl, Missouri weather is dreadfully humid. Fall, however, is just lovely! For the last couple days I have been "enjoying" wonderful 70's weather. I use the term "enjoying" loosely, since my allergies have been kicking me in the face. I have gotten out and about, however, at great cost...

But on to today's post topic- Fall fashion! One major reason I love fall is for the clothes I get to wear. Sure short shorts and tanks are nice, but, lets be honest, there is something so wonderful about being able to lounge around in a loose sweater and leggings and still be considered fashionable. Thus, I have put together a few of my ideal fashion outfits. And no, they are not all over-sized sweaters and leggings. ;)

Anything over-sized makes me happy. I love this tribal print! And the pop of red!

One of my favorite items to pair together during fall are shorts and tights. Its a cute way to wear summer pieces for fall!

Can I just squee for a moment? I LOVE everything about this sweater! The color, material, EVERTHING.

My go-to outfits during the Fall. Big sweater and tight jeans (or leggings)! I also think the owl necklace is tre adorable!

Nothing quite says Fall to me like plaid. The beanie just tops off the outfit!

So now that it is officially Fall, I just have to wait for the weather to get the picture. My 70 degree streak will be over tomorrow till the weekend as the weather jumps back up to 85. Gotta love the Midwest!

God bless,

Green with Glee...

No envy here! :)

This post will have three parts- a "where the heck have I been" part, a "hair update" part, and an "outfit of the day" part. Let us begin...

To start off, I have been basically living out of my suitcase for the past two weeks. As some of you read in my previous post, Boyfriend took me to see Big Time Rush! Well, after that, I went back to my apartment for three days to attend class, then Wednesday after class, I went back to Boyfriend's to set out for Tennessee the following morning.

Since I plan to write a post solely on the trip, I will just quickly say that I had a wonderful time with Boyfriend, his family, and some of their amazing friends! :)

Now for part two. My hair. In yet, another post  I said that I was going to start a hair treatment that was supposed to grow out my hair fast. Well, I tried it, and I am quite pleased with the results. While I did not measure my hair before I started, I think it is safe to say it grew about two inches. Of course, I skipped two days of the treatment, and so my results may have not been as good as they could have.

And finally, a quick outfit I just saw last night, that I forgot to post! I wore this outfit several weeks ago for church. :) I must say, I love the dress! Even if my sister says it makes me look like a mom!

Dress and Belt from H&M, Ring from Claire's, and Nail Polish "Need a Refresh-Mint" from Wet 'n Wild

This evening I'll be going to the annual founder's day picnic in my hometown! Don't let the [!] fool you, I'm not really super excited, HOWEVER, they serve the best corndogs on earth! And for that, I am pumped! Look forward to some lifestyle photos and my OoTD! :)

Floral and Fabulous...

and beautiful memories to match!

I hope everyone had a fabulous weekend! I know I did! :) This weekend my family went up to St. Louis for a mini-vacay! It was super relaxing and very much needed. We visited the St. Louis Zoo, Missouri Botanical Garden, and... St. Louis Galleria!!!

But all that came in second, of course, to the time I got to spend with Boyfriend. :) Since he lives so close to St. Louis I got to see him nearly every day we were there, as well as, have our families meet! It was pretty perfect. Our families got along great!

Yes, this weekend shall be recorded in the record book as just lovely. :)

I really love this outfit! While I don't remember exactly where the shirt and shoes are from (sorry!), the skirt is from Body Central! I love how bright colors go with my now tan skin! :) The necklace was a gift from Boyfriend! <3

The rings and large pearl bracelet are from Claire's , the small pearl bracelet and smaller diamond ring were gifted to me, and the other bracelet was designed by my lovely aunt! I'm also wearing Avon nail polish!

We saw so many animals at the zoo, but this guy had to be the most photogenic!

The Missouri Botanical Garden is so beautiful! If you're ever in the St. Louis area, I completely recommend it! :)

Boyfriend and I! Summer definitely is a bittersweet situation. ^_^

Hope everyone has a fabulous week! I'll be reading up on all my missed blog posts! :) I love being unplugged for the weekend, but now I'm so behind!! :O ;)

A Father Is...

A daughter's first love, and a son's first hero.

Happy late Father's Day! I hope everyone had a lovely daddy's day celebrating and reminiscing with ANY important man in your life! :)

Since yesterday was Father's Day, my church had a Father's Day dinner after church in our church's gym. (In case you did not know, I attend a Nazarene church, and Nazarene's LOVE to eat!) Some of the church sister's had decorated the gym, and when the men came in they were all served. The food was so good!!! After, I took baby bump pictures for a friend at a local garden- I'm loving how they turned out!- and then finished of the day with a crisis management paper. So the day was 100% perfect! haha :)

Now, I don't know about you, but I have been loving sheer tops! I used to not like them much, as I did not know how to wear them, nor did I have the confidence to wear anything non-100% cotton, but now, I can't help but smile when I touch the soft, almost celestial, fabric. This top is so versatile, as well! It can be worn as shown below, tied up in the front, or tucked into the front of your jeans. It is quickly becoming one of my favorite tops! Any guesses where it's from???

How did you spend your Father's Day?

Dr. Who anyone? Yes, my little sister converted her closet door into the Tardis door. haha!

I love the high/low top!

What year is it???

Top from Body Central (make sure to check out their new instagram!- body_central) Dark skinny jeans from Aeropostale, ring from Forever 21, and purse from Coach! The shoes were purchased at Payless Shoes

Thanks for reading! :)

Old Friends, Good Food...

Great Time!

Alright, well this evening my old roommate, Jessica, and her fiance came and spent the evening with me! (They're actually still here! Jessica is straightening her hair and Jared is watching Storage Wars.) The reason I am so excited is because I have not seen Jessica since December! She is one of my best friends- really more like a sister!

Well, after watching children all morning, doing a bit of shopping, and cleaning like a mad woman, Jessica texted me to let me know they were getting close. I then readied myself and headed out to meet them at HuHut. We had a lovely dinner then popped on over to Bass Pro! (That was their idea. Though I did see some cute swimming suits!) Finally we returned to my apartment where we are currently just chillaxing. :)

An overall good day.

My first time eating at HuHut!

That's my food!! :D

My Asian salad was amazing!

So yummy!! I'm getting hungry again just looking at it...

My favorite part of Bass Pro... just kidding! :P

Stopped in at Victoria's Secret and picked up this little baby, for 50% off!

Also 50% off from Bath and Body Works! Can't wait to use it during Christmas!

Wanna see what I picked up earlier in the day? Check out my Gordmans haul!! :)

Hope you all had a lovely day!

Neon Love...

It's all about the brights, baby!!!

This season neons are so in style, it's crazy! And my being the shopaholic I am, couldn't help but invest in at least one pair of neon shorts! I won't lie, I had to Google and Youtube some ideas one how exactly to style the shorts. And I am now quite pleased with the result!

So on my sister's break from work I forced her to take some fun photos of me for my outfit of the day post! The bright colors just make me happy! So I thought, it deserves a special photo session! :)

I love this whole outfit!!! So bright and happy! :)

Shorts: Gordman's
Top, Purse, Fedora: Target
Shoes: Converse

I'm so obsessed with this hat! Boyfriend calls it my Jason Mraz hat. haha

I love these bracelets! They're so fun! My earrings also have handcuffs in them. :)

Lyrics are from I Am by Hilary Duff! Love it!

What trends are you loving this summer?

Wonderful Weekends...

Always end too soon..

Well this weekend I had little to NO internet access. But it was alright! It was nice to "unplug" for a few days!

So this is what happened, Boyfriend turned 21 on Thursday! :) So I drove four hours away (what I don't do for that kid!) to stay with him and his family for a few days. I would like to take this moment to note that, (1) I have never driven that far on my own before and (2) I am notorious for getting lost! However, I did not get lost once! And I made the drive just fine!

Anyway, where I was staying seems to hate my mobile carrier, so for four days I was basically without my cell phone. Which was quite alright, the main person I text was right beside me 98% of the time! haha

And now a brief recap of my weekend. For my own benefit, as well as, your enjoyment!

  • Thursday- Boyfriend's birthday! I may have gone slightly overboard with his gift.. or gifts. Couldn't help it! haha I also met several of his friends!
  • Friday- We hung around the house a majority of the day. It was so beautiful out, it was nice to just relax, enjoy the weather and each other. <3
  • Saturday- A quick trip to Barnes and Noble and in the evening we went over to one of his friends' house for a summer neighborhood get together!
  • Sunday- Spent the morning lounging and then left around noon.
So there you have it! My wonderful weekend! Spent with my amazing boyfriend and his equally amazing family! I really don't know how I got so lucky... :)

One of the dogs! He's such a cutie! His name is Karl!

Mr. Explorer. :)

Beautiful covered bridge he showed me...

Isn't the scenery amazing? <3

So how was your weekend???

We Bought a Zoo...

Okay, no we didn't. But we visited one! :)

For anyone who read my previous blog, you'll know that recently my younger sister graduated from high school. Well, as her birthday/graduation gift, I decided to take my sister to my with me to the city for a few days. That's right, three days of sisterly bonding time! :) (Or as my sister likes to call her Sherlock/Mycroft bonding time. She being Sherlock and myself being Mycroft.)

We had many adventures while we were there. We watched Dark Shadows, which had us laughing 98% of the time!, explored downtown, lounged by the pool, and shopped till we literally dropped. But before we accomplished all these escapades, my sister had one main goal- SEE SOME OTTERS.

In case you haven't seen my John Watson inspired post, my sister and I are currently infatuated with the BBC series, Sherlock. And, if you get far enough into the fandom, you will see that Benedict Cumberbatch, the actor who plays Sherlock, loves Otters. So there you have it. She then insisted we see otters.

And we did. :)

We found our parrot! haha Just kidding... But we finally discovered why type he is!

Lazy cheetah was sound asleep!

All the animals were so sleepy!

Such a cute statue!

The very greedy giraffe!

Went with some bright colors! Summer time, lovely!
Shorts: Zco Jeans
Cami and Bag: Forever21
Earrings: Bought in Guatemala :)
Pony: McDonald's (bought for me by boyfriend!)

The otters! My sister dubbed one Sherlock and the other John!

I must admit, they are very cute creatures... :)

They were so curious to see what was in the bag!

It's the Only Life You've Got, So You Gotta Live It...

BIG TIME!!!

Lack of posts much? Sorry! I have been so busy as of late! I've been making earrings, painting makeup brush holders, and drawing like a madwoman! But I have finally caught up with myself, and am now back on track! :)

But this post is not going to focus on ANY of that! It's going to focus on Saturday July 23, 2011- a day I will NEVER forget! On that day I witnessed my first BIG TIME RUSH concert! For those of you fabulous fashion fans out there who don't know who Big Time Rush is, they are the boy band from Nickelodean's hit TV show of the same name! In short, I LOVE THEM! One in particular- Carlos Pena! He's such a cutie!

Anyways! So as some of you may know, we have been having a little bit of a heat wave... Saturday was no exception! It was so hot and humid! We spend $70 on liquids alone! *cough* My family and I decided to go to Worlds of Fun for their Red, White, and Boom event, in which, Big Time Rush was going to play a concert! Well, the concert area opened at 4 and the concert started around 9, supposedly, so there we sat. Under the hot sun. Waiting. And waiting. And waiting somemore. And guess when the concert started? 9:45! People were gettin very testy. For every song that was played before Big Time Rush came on stage the crowed booed.

Now I understand not wanting the boys to get too hot, but what about all those who had been sitting there for nearly 6 hours? I think that was poor planning. Don't open the area up so early if a concert is going to be in the evening. Anyone wanting a good seat is, of course, going to be there as soon as it opens. And it is almost reaching inhumane, when it comes to how they handled the heat. Speaking as a Public Relations major, I would have opted for giving out free water, rather than throwing a couple tee shirts into the crowd, which I'm sure, were too big for most who caught them. But, since I know not much about the whole planning events thing yet, that is all I can say.

Other than that, the concert was amazing! I can't wait to go to another! Hopefully in an air conditioned environment! I now leave you with a few pictures, of the concert! Enjoy! :)
