Tis the Season...

To get back into blogging!

So for the past couple months I have been a little less than not active. I blame school! And myself. This year is my 3rd year in college, and let me just say- it's been the toughest so far! That may be due in part to my driving roughly 3 hours everyday, which is tiring in and of itself. Then add schoolwork and a part-time job, and well, you have a receipt for STRESS.

I've also found out that I am gluten-intolerant. That pretty much means no bread... pasta... PASTRIES!!! You can imagine my annoyance. haha But other than that, I've got my headaches under control, and now, luckily, I am on winter break!

Now on to the Outfit of the Day! :) P.S. It's snowing as I type!

Merry Christmas!

Life Update + Another Empty Promise

I will try to keep this promise!!!

So I know I have been MIA, but I have an excuse! COLLEGE. It is my excuse for all! Ha! :) Anyway! So, yes, I have been ridiculously busy as of late. Not only am I a full time commuter student and working, but I have now also starting teaching Sunday school with my sister! Picture it... 20 6-11 year-olds! And one 5 year old. LOL

Another exciting note! We are FINALLY moving forward with the addition to our house! After a year of planning, we should be breaking ground by the end of the week! I will keep you updated on the progress, as I am getting a WALK-IN CLOSET!!! And if you can't tell, I'm super excited! I will also be adding a bay window and carpet to my bedroom! No more cold floors during winter! *w00t*

Ahem, so that is my life currently. I WILL be restarting my Outfit of the Day posts, as well as, starting a mini series addressing all my fave fall trends and products! Has anyone else switched out there summer candles for fall ones?!

An Outfit of the Day one day this past summer...

Bad Bad Blogger...

So I have not blogged in AGES!!!! D: I'm so ashamed!!! *puts paper bag over face*

FORGIVE ME!!!!

Alright, so for most college-aged fashion bloggers out there, I'm assuming, school has started. I alas am no different... Yes, I have started my junior year of college. Where has the time gone?!

This year I am commuting every day. YES. EVERY day!!! For those of you who wonder, I live roughly an hour and 15 minutes from my school. Again, yes, I drive to and from daily! What am I thinking? haha

It is okay though. I am commuting with my very best friend! She is interning here in the states and works about an hour away from my house (going in the same direction, of course). So luckily, we gab and chat for the first hour, then I blast my radio on KLOVE and sing at the top of my voice! Why yes, I do get stares. :) (Though I have not been singing the last two days on account of, I almost lost my voice!)

Any-who! I'll try to blog more regularly, but for now, I leave you with an Outfit of the Day from many many days ago! :)

Cause I'm Crafty!

So this summer I have gotten into, what I like to call, a "creative kick". I have been doing so many different projects! From doing this blog to playing my violin, if it requires any kind of creativity, I'm in! Here are a few of the products of my crafty rampage!

I love to draw! This is my most recent piece. Of course, the subjects of my drawings are going to be my favorite boys! :)

I also love photography! This is my "little sister"!

I was hired to take engagement and wedding pictures for my sister's friend, Tabitha!

I decided I wanted a new makeup brush holder and thus this was born! It matches the new theme of my room! Made one for me and my sister!

Appleworks is the name of my little crafting... thing... LOL

So who hasn't been obsessed with feathers this summer? I really wanted feather extensions but didn't want to mess with getting them. Then I saw an earring on the cover of Seventeen magazine, and thus, this was born!

A doorhanger I made for my little cousin Mia! She loved it, BTW. :)

Those are just a few of my projects this summer! Have you been into any particular subject this summer?

A Little Old, A Little New

I have been a bad bad blogger! What excuse shall I use today? Vacation! :D (pics to come in the next post!)

Anyway, this past weekend was city-wide garage sales. I didn't plan on going because, well frankly, the town I live in isn't exactly the most fashionable of places... I live in a very country town you see. But Saturday I woke up and my first thought was, I wanna go garage saling! (is that even a word???) So I dragged my sister out of bed at 9 in the morning to accompany me. Such a good sister, right? ;)

Well I didn't find but a couple of things. I was actually surprised by how few garage sales there were. But I did pick up two jean pieces. This vest being one! If it's from the 90's, does that make it vintage? :)

I have been trying to find the perfect LWD all summer, and finally found it! Or two actually! And I didn't find them! My mom did!

It's the Only Life You've Got, So You Gotta Live It...

BIG TIME!!!

Lack of posts much? Sorry! I have been so busy as of late! I've been making earrings, painting makeup brush holders, and drawing like a madwoman! But I have finally caught up with myself, and am now back on track! :)

But this post is not going to focus on ANY of that! It's going to focus on Saturday July 23, 2011- a day I will NEVER forget! On that day I witnessed my first BIG TIME RUSH concert! For those of you fabulous fashion fans out there who don't know who Big Time Rush is, they are the boy band from Nickelodean's hit TV show of the same name! In short, I LOVE THEM! One in particular- Carlos Pena! He's such a cutie!

Anyways! So as some of you may know, we have been having a little bit of a heat wave... Saturday was no exception! It was so hot and humid! We spend $70 on liquids alone! *cough* My family and I decided to go to Worlds of Fun for their Red, White, and Boom event, in which, Big Time Rush was going to play a concert! Well, the concert area opened at 4 and the concert started around 9, supposedly, so there we sat. Under the hot sun. Waiting. And waiting. And waiting somemore. And guess when the concert started? 9:45! People were gettin very testy. For every song that was played before Big Time Rush came on stage the crowed booed.

Now I understand not wanting the boys to get too hot, but what about all those who had been sitting there for nearly 6 hours? I think that was poor planning. Don't open the area up so early if a concert is going to be in the evening. Anyone wanting a good seat is, of course, going to be there as soon as it opens. And it is almost reaching inhumane, when it comes to how they handled the heat. Speaking as a Public Relations major, I would have opted for giving out free water, rather than throwing a couple tee shirts into the crowd, which I'm sure, were too big for most who caught them. But, since I know not much about the whole planning events thing yet, that is all I can say.

Other than that, the concert was amazing! I can't wait to go to another! Hopefully in an air conditioned environment! I now leave you with a few pictures, of the concert! Enjoy! :)

Classy to Casual...

All with one top!

Well praise the Lord, my migraines have been so much better lately! So last Thursday I had an MRI done, to see if we could figure out the cause of my migraines. The next day we got the results and everything came back normal. While we were all very glad about this, my mother was literally going mad! So as soon as she got off the phone with the doctor, she called the chiropractor and made an appointment for me in the afternoon.

Have you ever been to the chiropractor? If not, you are lucky! I did NOT enjoy it. In fact, I ended up whimpering towards the end of it! >///< Anyway, the chiropractor said that where my spine meets my skull was very messed up. So he fixed it. haha! So I am now pleased to announce that, while I am still having migraines, they are far fewer and I am able to control them with a weaker medicine. To God be the glory!

Anyways, on to the outfit of the day! :) Went to church then shopping! From classy and conservative to casual and comfy!

The Cat's Meow!

So I don't know if any of you watch a lot of TV- I do!- but there is this new show on ABCFamily- The Nine Lives of Chloe King- and I love it! ABCFamily just seems to be getting better and better shows! While, Switched At Birth is my all time fave show on ABCFamily, 9 Lives is tied for 2nd with Secret Life! (Yes, I watch Secret Life of the American Teenager... I've been hooked since the first season! Which is arguably the best.)

Anyway, this look was somewhat inspired by Chloe! At least the hair. This outfit is actually from a week ago or so. I tried this hairstyle again today, and it came out so much better! I also really like Chloe's fashion style, so I'm going to try to come up with a few outfits inspired by her. Though she seems to wear a lot of jackets, and Missouri weather is just not good for that right now. haha

My sad attempt at a Chloe King-ish pose... Isn't it laughable?! Ha!

Horrid Humid Heat

So as I type I am currently under house arrest. Sort of... As I think I've mentioned before (maybe I haven't, I don't remember, haha) I have chronic migraines. They are not fun.

Well, because of the ridiculous heat I ended up with a horrable headache yesterday. (It was 104!) I don't think it helped that I had been out at the lake the whole day before either. It took three kinds of medicine and about 6 hours to get rid of the headache, and I went to bed feeling as if my head were a balloon that had just deflated.

Because, as the above paragraph explains, my mother has ordered me to basically do NOTHING. Not as wonderful as one might think. So I decided to blog, edit some pictures, and work on a little art project... :)

Anyway! On to the Outfit of the Day!

Floral and Fabulous!

Well the summer keeps passing by. Hotter and hotter each day it seems. If not hotter, more humid! If you live where it does not get so horribly humid... I envy you!!! Here in the Mid-West we are "blessed" with humidity. Even when it rains, there is no relief! In fact, after the rain the humidity only intensifies! I can even get a little sweaty going from my front door to my car! Its kind of ridiculous. haha

So as one might guess, wearing light clothing is a must! While keeping cool is my top priority, looking cute is a close second! How do you keep cool in the summer? Besides staying in the AC! :P

Happy Birthday, Alfred!

Er... Happy late birthday! ^_^'

For those of you who have no idea who Alfred is, he is America in the anime series Axis Powers: Hetalia! (A show that my sister and I quite enjoy!)

Anyway! I have not posted in a few days... Bad me! I would say I have been busy, but I can't quite remember what all I've done lately, so I'll just say I've been a bad blogger. haha

This blog is just a little peek into my Fourth of July celebration with my family! :)

Enjoying some cold, sweet watermelon! Mmm!!

My cousins got a new puppy! His name is Ruger!

Isn't he adorable?!

We have some future explosive engineers in the family...

I shall leave you with one last picture of Ruger the Adorable. :)
