I'm Baaaaack!!!

Hopefully to stay this time!

So all excuses aside... it has been a while! I'm missed blogging so! It seems every time I would want to post, something else would come up that needed doing. I have so many old Outfit of the Day pictures that I never blogged! So I might decide to do a collaborative post with less pictures per outfit, but several different outfits within the post. Thoughts?

To catch you up, I am officially on summer break!!! *does happy dance* Why am I ultra-excited this particular summer? Well there are a few reasons-
  • I have not had a break from school longer than Christmas in a year and half! (I've taken classes 5 straight semesters. Including summer.)
  • I just got a job at Ulta! (100 follower giveaway, anyone?)
  • My family is going to Guatemala for 2 weeks this month!
  • Boyfriend is coming along!
And those are currently the reasons I smile. :) Ahem... Since this is pretty much a "Here I am!!!" post, I'll leave you with some pictures from yesterday. My mother and sister came to visit and we all went to a Hispanic festival!

Looking forward to getting back into the fashion blogging community!! I'm missed you so!!

God Bless,

Sunday Stripes...

and fabulous future!

Well the picnic is over for another year... last night was the final night of my town's annual founders' day picnic. I spent the evening walking around eating with my best friend, Frances. We talked and laughed and had a great time! (Even if it was ungodly hot outside!)

Walking around, seeing people we had known years ago, made Fran and I realize how much our lives have changed, as well as, glad to have outgrown and found life beyond our little hometown. While we, of course, still have ties to this town, and we won't forget where we called home for so long, we aren't letting small town mentality hinder our dreams. I'm very grateful to have been raised in such a small, safe town, but I also realize there is more out there for me. Country-raised. City-destined. :)

Now after my little shpeal  on small town life, I would like to apologize for not having any OoTD pictures from last evening. I really liked my outfit too! But my photographer aka my sister, had to work, and I feel very vain letting anyone else take pictures of me... But I will definitely be wearing the outfit again, and will get pictures! So until then, it'll just remain a secret! ;)

So here is my outfit today instead! :)

My wonderful bestie brought me this dress back from the Philippines! It love it!

Bought this purse at Body Central on sale for $6.99! It's super cute and has so much room!

If I look slightly... flushed... it's because, well, it's an inferno outside! Super hot... >:( Hence the flowy, light dress! All jewelry was high-jacked from my mama's closet! I get my fashion sense from her. :) And my dad's not too bad either! haha

Hope you all are having a great Sunday! Here's to a good week to follow! :)

Lace, Floral, and Fun....

I hope everyone is having a fabulous day! I'm back at my apartment for a couple days for work then I'll be headed back to my parents. Such I busy life I lead! haha just kidding. :)

Well this weekend is the annual founders day picnic in my hometown. For those of you not "in the know", that means a few things- 1) summer vacation is drawing to a close 2) the reunion of cliques that have been separated due to vacations, summer jobs, and camps of various sorts, and 3) the time to show off any tan, cute clothes, or boyfriend you may have acquired over the course of the summer.

Basically it's our town's version of the red carpet (except it's sticky pavement)- a place to see and be seen.
The only reason I go anymore is for the food. I do not ride rides and the entertainment in the park has been the same since I was two. This year I went with my mom, sister, my oldest friend and her little girl. We ended up having a blast! I guess being around a young spirit makes you feel younger yourself! :)

Top from JC Penny, shorts from Gordmans, Sandals from New York and Company

I love this necklace from Forever 21!!

So many ruffles!

We stared at the bunnies for quite some time :)

Someone got herself all chalked up!

I hope everyone is having a good summer thus far! :)

Green with Glee...

No envy here! :)

This post will have three parts- a "where the heck have I been" part, a "hair update" part, and an "outfit of the day" part. Let us begin...

To start off, I have been basically living out of my suitcase for the past two weeks. As some of you read in my previous post, Boyfriend took me to see Big Time Rush! Well, after that, I went back to my apartment for three days to attend class, then Wednesday after class, I went back to Boyfriend's to set out for Tennessee the following morning.

Since I plan to write a post solely on the trip, I will just quickly say that I had a wonderful time with Boyfriend, his family, and some of their amazing friends! :)

Now for part two. My hair. In yet, another post  I said that I was going to start a hair treatment that was supposed to grow out my hair fast. Well, I tried it, and I am quite pleased with the results. While I did not measure my hair before I started, I think it is safe to say it grew about two inches. Of course, I skipped two days of the treatment, and so my results may have not been as good as they could have.

And finally, a quick outfit I just saw last night, that I forgot to post! I wore this outfit several weeks ago for church. :) I must say, I love the dress! Even if my sister says it makes me look like a mom!

Dress and Belt from H&M, Ring from Claire's, and Nail Polish "Need a Refresh-Mint" from Wet 'n Wild

This evening I'll be going to the annual founder's day picnic in my hometown! Don't let the [!] fool you, I'm not really super excited, HOWEVER, they serve the best corndogs on earth! And for that, I am pumped! Look forward to some lifestyle photos and my OoTD! :)

You're the Only One That Rocks My World...

My Cover Girl. <3

As anyone who read my previous post knows, I had another one of my revitalizing "unplugged" weekends this past Friday-Sunday. (An "unplugged" weekend is basically any weekend I go to spend with Boyfriend and his family. While there, my phone gets hardly any reception, thus, I am unplugged from the online world. Which is really rather nice!)

This weekend was an absolute joy!!! Not only did I get to spend time with Boyfriend, but I also got to see my favorite band- Big Time Rush!!! God bless my sweet beau for getting us tickets, driving there, sitting in rain, and enduring the entire concert, while I screamed and jumped and sang along like the fangirl I am!

No worries, I thanked him over the huge screens that were there. :) So everyone could see how darling he is!

Because it was raining some during the opening acts, I didn't want to walk around with my camera and get it all wet. So I didn't get any pictures of Big Time Rush outfits- though, as you can imagine, there were plenty! So enjoy these few pictures of Little Miss Rachel Crow, Cody Simpson (who is now surprisingly... older.. than I remembered...), and, of course, my wonderful Big Time Rush. :)

I did not take anywhere near the same amount of pictures I took the first time I saw Big Time Rush. I decided this time I was going to completely enjoy the show. And I did. With my best boy beside me and my superstars in front of me. :)

Finally, my outfit of the day! :)

Yes, this weekend will go down in the record books as amazing. <3

Life, Liberty and the Pursuit of....

Amazing hair!!!

Happy 4th of July, everyone!!! :) Hope you have a day full of family, food, and pyrotechnics!

Now onto the post! Well, yesterday I went to my hair salon to get my bangs trimmed and reshaped.

It did not go well.

My hairdresser cut my bangs way too short, and made them straight across rather than side swept. Now, if you know me AT ALL, it is over-obvious that I am obsessed with my hair and keeping it looking nice. Needless to say, I freaked once at home. But after spazzing out a good 30 minutes, I decided to look up any natural way to grow my hair out and treat is extra special. my poor hair *mumblemuble*....

So here is a list is a list of tips and tricks I've found to pamper your hair and maybe even hasten growth!

Olive oil: So according to, well, everyone, olive oil is super good for your hair! It can be used in a masks or just plain, which is how I am using it. I found this video on Youtube, which tells you a way to grow out your hair- up to 3 inches within a week! I'm trying it, so I'll let you know how it goes! :)

Hair Masks: Hair masks are a nice way to pamper ones hair. Throw on a face mask and make it a stay in night! The mask I'm going to try consists of: an avocado, olive oil, coconut oil, and I'm going to throw in a little peppermint oil! Adding eggs to masks if quite common to in order to add shine!

Hot/Cold Shower: While washing your hair with hot water is nice, before you step out of the shower, turn the knob to a cooler setting. It seals the cuticles of your hair, and helps protect it from any heat styling you might be doing.

Heat styling day off: This one is not fun for me. I straighten or curl my hair everyday. Yes, I use heat protector, but that doesn't take the place of letting your hair air dry and have a day off. But, if you are like me, and must do something with your hair, turn the heating tool down. :)

These are just some of the tricks I'm trying. I also have been taking vitamins, yet again. haha If you have more tips or tricks, please leave a comment! :) Have a lovely day!!!

Blog Award...

and a summer must listen!!! :)

First off, I would like to say Thank You So Much! to Cherry Fashion for giving me such a lovely award! I'm very touched. :) She has a lovely blog that you should definitely check out! She blogs about fashion by way of outfit posts, beauty, fashion tips, and features every Friday! She really is a lovely person and it shows through in her blog.

Second, this award has a few rules (what fun would it be if it didn't right?)-

Nomination Rules:
1. Post the award image to your blog
2. Link the person who awarded you
3. Post 7 random things about you
4. Nominate other 8 relatively new blogs

Now for some lovely random facts! Everyone loves those, right?
1. I have a notebook for everything! Really. Notebooks keep me organized, and while I have a planner on my smartphone, being able to write something down just makes me feel good. :) I even have one in my purse! :D
2. I have a Fox Terrier Toy named Wishbone. Yes, after the show. And he is 16 years old!
3. I love writing. I've taken fiction writing, technical writing, PR writing, and several other writing classes in college. Makes sense that I have a blog, huh?
4. I like to link. If you haven't noticed yet. :P
5. My little sister (roughly 3 years younger) is taller than me. I wear heels and she's still taller than me. :/
6. Little kids used to annoy me. Now I love them! I work childcare at a fitness studio and I teach Sunday school at my church!
7. I LOVE Big Time Rush! I've seen them once in concert, and I'm going to see them again on July 7th! (Thanks to Boyfriend. He spoils me... :) Love him so much!)

And the eight blogs I would like to award are......

Now, in conjunction with my last random fact, please enjoy Big Time Rush's new single! It's pretty much the perfect summer song. :)

Floral and Fabulous...

and beautiful memories to match!

I hope everyone had a fabulous weekend! I know I did! :) This weekend my family went up to St. Louis for a mini-vacay! It was super relaxing and very much needed. We visited the St. Louis Zoo, Missouri Botanical Garden, and... St. Louis Galleria!!!

But all that came in second, of course, to the time I got to spend with Boyfriend. :) Since he lives so close to St. Louis I got to see him nearly every day we were there, as well as, have our families meet! It was pretty perfect. Our families got along great!

Yes, this weekend shall be recorded in the record book as just lovely. :)

I really love this outfit! While I don't remember exactly where the shirt and shoes are from (sorry!), the skirt is from Body Central! I love how bright colors go with my now tan skin! :) The necklace was a gift from Boyfriend! <3

The rings and large pearl bracelet are from Claire's , the small pearl bracelet and smaller diamond ring were gifted to me, and the other bracelet was designed by my lovely aunt! I'm also wearing Avon nail polish!

We saw so many animals at the zoo, but this guy had to be the most photogenic!

The Missouri Botanical Garden is so beautiful! If you're ever in the St. Louis area, I completely recommend it! :)

Boyfriend and I! Summer definitely is a bittersweet situation. ^_^

Hope everyone has a fabulous week! I'll be reading up on all my missed blog posts! :) I love being unplugged for the weekend, but now I'm so behind!! :O ;)

It's a Beautiful Day in the Neighborhood...

As I have stated in previous posts, it is ridiculously humid here in the Midwest. To beat the heat most residents do the usual- chill at the pool, grab frozen treats, or, my tried-and-true favorite, stay in the cool air conditioned indoors. However, when I do venture outside, I make sure what I am wearing is light and breezy (and stylish, of course!)

I love sheer tops! I know I've said this before, but I can't help it! They are so breezy and light! This top from Body Central has to be one of my favorites at the moment! It has a double layer of sheer ruffles at the top so a necklace is not necessarily needed, though I added a long key necklace. I've also worn this top with a brown/grey cardigan, making the piece quite versatile! Both the navy shorts and jean top were thrifted. The shoes are from New York and Company and some of my favorites, as well!

My bracelets we all bought in Guatemala, though the bottom left bracelet was made by my aunt (she owns a jewelry business)! My rings include- my purity ring, my senior ring, and a ring purchased in Florida during a trip.

So how do you beat the heat??

A Father Is...

A daughter's first love, and a son's first hero.

Happy late Father's Day! I hope everyone had a lovely daddy's day celebrating and reminiscing with ANY important man in your life! :)

Since yesterday was Father's Day, my church had a Father's Day dinner after church in our church's gym. (In case you did not know, I attend a Nazarene church, and Nazarene's LOVE to eat!) Some of the church sister's had decorated the gym, and when the men came in they were all served. The food was so good!!! After, I took baby bump pictures for a friend at a local garden- I'm loving how they turned out!- and then finished of the day with a crisis management paper. So the day was 100% perfect! haha :)

Now, I don't know about you, but I have been loving sheer tops! I used to not like them much, as I did not know how to wear them, nor did I have the confidence to wear anything non-100% cotton, but now, I can't help but smile when I touch the soft, almost celestial, fabric. This top is so versatile, as well! It can be worn as shown below, tied up in the front, or tucked into the front of your jeans. It is quickly becoming one of my favorite tops! Any guesses where it's from???

How did you spend your Father's Day?

Dr. Who anyone? Yes, my little sister converted her closet door into the Tardis door. haha!

I love the high/low top!

What year is it???

Top from Body Central (make sure to check out their new instagram!- body_central) Dark skinny jeans from Aeropostale, ring from Forever 21, and purse from Coach! The shoes were purchased at Payless Shoes

Thanks for reading! :)
