Old Is....

Beautiful!!!

Sunday, June 10, my church held its annual car show in which locals bring there amazing, awesome, epic old cars and display them for the community! We also have inflatable games for kids, music, prizes, and LOTS of food!! It's always very fun! :)

Below are a few photos from my day! Hope you enjoy!!

Was this a mini-van??? haha! So very cute! I really wanted to go for a ride...

Sometimes I feel I was born in the wrong time period... How fun would it be to dress up in a poodle skirt and hop in this baby with Boyfriend and head out to the soda parlor then to a drive-in movie?? Oh, what a dream... :)

It was quite humid, as always in the Midwest. I am seriously loving these shorts from Gordmans. Today I paired them with a sheer high/low top from JCPenny, a bandeau top from Body Central, and some oh-so-comfy flip-flops from Old Navy. :) Sunglasses from Love Culture! <3

After the car show we ran errands! We hit up some Hispanic stores to pick up some weekly snack essentials for mi famila. ;) I love being Latina! So yummy!

I leave you with this thought, while new things are nice- in clothes, makeup, cars, ext.- old things have a beauty that cannot be duplicated and cannot be beaten. :)

Have a beautiful day!!!

Neon Love...

It's all about the brights, baby!!!

This season neons are so in style, it's crazy! And my being the shopaholic I am, couldn't help but invest in at least one pair of neon shorts! I won't lie, I had to Google and Youtube some ideas one how exactly to style the shorts. And I am now quite pleased with the result!

So on my sister's break from work I forced her to take some fun photos of me for my outfit of the day post! The bright colors just make me happy! So I thought, it deserves a special photo session! :)

I love this whole outfit!!! So bright and happy! :)

Shorts: Gordman's
Top, Purse, Fedora: Target
Shoes: Converse

I'm so obsessed with this hat! Boyfriend calls it my Jason Mraz hat. haha

I love these bracelets! They're so fun! My earrings also have handcuffs in them. :)

Lyrics are from I Am by Hilary Duff! Love it!

What trends are you loving this summer?

Wonderful Weekends...

Always end too soon..

Well this weekend I had little to NO internet access. But it was alright! It was nice to "unplug" for a few days!

So this is what happened, Boyfriend turned 21 on Thursday! :) So I drove four hours away (what I don't do for that kid!) to stay with him and his family for a few days. I would like to take this moment to note that, (1) I have never driven that far on my own before and (2) I am notorious for getting lost! However, I did not get lost once! And I made the drive just fine!

Anyway, where I was staying seems to hate my mobile carrier, so for four days I was basically without my cell phone. Which was quite alright, the main person I text was right beside me 98% of the time! haha

And now a brief recap of my weekend. For my own benefit, as well as, your enjoyment!

  • Thursday- Boyfriend's birthday! I may have gone slightly overboard with his gift.. or gifts. Couldn't help it! haha I also met several of his friends!
  • Friday- We hung around the house a majority of the day. It was so beautiful out, it was nice to just relax, enjoy the weather and each other. <3
  • Saturday- A quick trip to Barnes and Noble and in the evening we went over to one of his friends' house for a summer neighborhood get together!
  • Sunday- Spent the morning lounging and then left around noon.
So there you have it! My wonderful weekend! Spent with my amazing boyfriend and his equally amazing family! I really don't know how I got so lucky... :)

One of the dogs! He's such a cutie! His name is Karl!

Mr. Explorer. :)

Beautiful covered bridge he showed me...

Isn't the scenery amazing? <3

So how was your weekend???

Summer Haul...

Lovely Lips!

So this summer, along with getting a nice healthy tan, I have been obsessed with- you guessed it!- my lips! During the winter, moisturizing is a MUST, but it's important to not forget about it during the summer either! If there's something I can't stand, it's the feeling of chapped lips! It just bothers me so badly!

Of course, I don't stick to chapstick alone. I love color! Thus, I have been picking up a few colors... here and there... :) [and a few other products to, of course! haha!]

Tribal print clutch and glade candle!

Just a few lip products! ;)

One of my favorites! Latino from Rimmel London. Fits no? :)

This is the perfect red! Love it! Are You Red-Dy from Cover Girl.

Picked up three lip liners from L.A. Colors (on sale for $ .25!)

Maybe I went a little overboard??? haha Never... :)

What are your favorite lip colors for the summer?

Floral Pastels...

with a pop!

Happy Memorial Day, everyone! Finally finding time to post again! Summer is supposed to be relaxing, however, I've been so busy as of late! For one, I refused to post again until I finished my gift for boyfriend's birthday. In case anyone is curious, my sister and I collab-ed on an art piece for his birthday, which is Thursday, and I must take it to the printer by tomorrow. Thus, no posting until it was finished.

And it is finished! :)

Anyways, Sunday, and these passed few days, have been delightful! Humid a bit... But delightful nonetheless! So Sunday I deemed lovely enough for a dress! Since I've been living between my parents home and my apartment, I do not have all my clothes and shoes in one location so I had the dress I wanted to wear then suddenly realized I did not have the shoes! So I simply paired the dress with a bright yellow pair of peep-toed heels for a pop of color!

My puppy dog photo-bombed the picture!! :)

Love the double bow detail! <3

Open back is super cute, no? :)

Dress: Given to me by my bestie!
Shoes: I wanna say they are from Cato
Necklace: Gotten in Guatemala

Remember to give thanks for those who gave so much! :)

We Bought a Zoo...

Okay, no we didn't. But we visited one! :)

For anyone who read my previous blog, you'll know that recently my younger sister graduated from high school. Well, as her birthday/graduation gift, I decided to take my sister to my with me to the city for a few days. That's right, three days of sisterly bonding time! :) (Or as my sister likes to call her Sherlock/Mycroft bonding time. She being Sherlock and myself being Mycroft.)

We had many adventures while we were there. We watched Dark Shadows, which had us laughing 98% of the time!, explored downtown, lounged by the pool, and shopped till we literally dropped. But before we accomplished all these escapades, my sister had one main goal- SEE SOME OTTERS.

In case you haven't seen my John Watson inspired post, my sister and I are currently infatuated with the BBC series, Sherlock. And, if you get far enough into the fandom, you will see that Benedict Cumberbatch, the actor who plays Sherlock, loves Otters. So there you have it. She then insisted we see otters.

And we did. :)

We found our parrot! haha Just kidding... But we finally discovered why type he is!

Lazy cheetah was sound asleep!

All the animals were so sleepy!

Such a cute statue!

The very greedy giraffe!

Went with some bright colors! Summer time, lovely!
Shorts: Zco Jeans
Cami and Bag: Forever21
Earrings: Bought in Guatemala :)
Pony: McDonald's (bought for me by boyfriend!)

The otters! My sister dubbed one Sherlock and the other John!

I must admit, they are very cute creatures... :)

They were so curious to see what was in the bag!

Perfect Day...

For a graduation!!! :)

I get so behind on reading posts, its rather upsetting... :/  I was doing so well too! THEN... finals + my little sister's HS graduation + her birthday + end of May general craziness. Haha  But now I'm posting! And reading!

And I have so much to post! And read! O.o  haha I love it! :D

Anyway, As the title may lead you to believe, no I did not graduate. My baby sister did. I use the term "baby" or "little" sister very lightly being as how she is taller than me. This past Sunday, May 20, 2012, my baby sister ended her high school career. Not only that, she turned 18!!! How rude! Just completely leaving her "kid sister" status behind! I didn't think my heart could take it... haha Just kidding! I couldn't be more proud! :)

The day was supposed to have scattered thunderstorms, however, it was gorgeous! Slightly humid, as the Midwest so often is, but other than that, perfect. :)

And since, this OoTD post is mainly about my sister, I'll do a sister edition! <3

My not-so-baby sister and I! :')

Dress: JC Penny
Mini Sweater: JC Penny

My sister's birthday cake! Tres leches! It was soooo good! (Yes we had 2 cakes!)

Dress: Gordman's
Shoes: Payless Shoes (though I've had them forever!)

Nails: Mellow Yellow and Strobe Light (the sparkles) by Sally Hansen and Boom Boom by Sinful Colors
Watch: Frances Advincula aka my bestie :) haha (a gift from the Philippines!)
Ring: My purity right :)

Sisters. Best friends <3
Congratulations to all the 2012 graduates out there! Great job!!! :)
