Unplugged Weekend...

I have a quick 15 minutes before I need to leave for work, and after I am heading out to St. Louis to see boyfriend and go to a Big Time Rush concert tomorrow! :)

And since I get NO RECEPTION OF ANY KIND at his place, I thought I'd post a quickie blog! ;)

First off, an update of my hair experiment. I'm very pleased to say that my bangs have grown out noticeably since my last post. In case you haven't read what I'm doing I've been putting hot olive oil on my hair. Here's why.

Second, I will be be posting a Big Time Rush special post with the most creative outfits I see at the concert! Kind of a street fashion post- but BTR version!

My fourth of July outfit! :) Top from Forever21- on sale for buy one get one FREE! Got this free. :) Shoes from Cato, I believe.

My outfit today! Bow headband from Gordmans! :)

One last note, as I am need to leave in FOUR minutes, my blog was featured!! :) by the lovely Cherry Fashions! Please check it out! ^_^

Life, Liberty and the Pursuit of....

Amazing hair!!!

Happy 4th of July, everyone!!! :) Hope you have a day full of family, food, and pyrotechnics!

Now onto the post! Well, yesterday I went to my hair salon to get my bangs trimmed and reshaped.

It did not go well.

My hairdresser cut my bangs way too short, and made them straight across rather than side swept. Now, if you know me AT ALL, it is over-obvious that I am obsessed with my hair and keeping it looking nice. Needless to say, I freaked once at home. But after spazzing out a good 30 minutes, I decided to look up any natural way to grow my hair out and treat is extra special. my poor hair *mumblemuble*....

So here is a list is a list of tips and tricks I've found to pamper your hair and maybe even hasten growth!

Olive oil: So according to, well, everyone, olive oil is super good for your hair! It can be used in a masks or just plain, which is how I am using it. I found this video on Youtube, which tells you a way to grow out your hair- up to 3 inches within a week! I'm trying it, so I'll let you know how it goes! :)

Hair Masks: Hair masks are a nice way to pamper ones hair. Throw on a face mask and make it a stay in night! The mask I'm going to try consists of: an avocado, olive oil, coconut oil, and I'm going to throw in a little peppermint oil! Adding eggs to masks if quite common to in order to add shine!

Hot/Cold Shower: While washing your hair with hot water is nice, before you step out of the shower, turn the knob to a cooler setting. It seals the cuticles of your hair, and helps protect it from any heat styling you might be doing.

Heat styling day off: This one is not fun for me. I straighten or curl my hair everyday. Yes, I use heat protector, but that doesn't take the place of letting your hair air dry and have a day off. But, if you are like me, and must do something with your hair, turn the heating tool down. :)

These are just some of the tricks I'm trying. I also have been taking vitamins, yet again. haha If you have more tips or tricks, please leave a comment! :) Have a lovely day!!!

Blog Award...

and a summer must listen!!! :)

First off, I would like to say Thank You So Much! to Cherry Fashion for giving me such a lovely award! I'm very touched. :) She has a lovely blog that you should definitely check out! She blogs about fashion by way of outfit posts, beauty, fashion tips, and features every Friday! She really is a lovely person and it shows through in her blog.

Second, this award has a few rules (what fun would it be if it didn't right?)-

Nomination Rules:
1. Post the award image to your blog
2. Link the person who awarded you
3. Post 7 random things about you
4. Nominate other 8 relatively new blogs

Now for some lovely random facts! Everyone loves those, right?
1. I have a notebook for everything! Really. Notebooks keep me organized, and while I have a planner on my smartphone, being able to write something down just makes me feel good. :) I even have one in my purse! :D
2. I have a Fox Terrier Toy named Wishbone. Yes, after the show. And he is 16 years old!
3. I love writing. I've taken fiction writing, technical writing, PR writing, and several other writing classes in college. Makes sense that I have a blog, huh?
4. I like to link. If you haven't noticed yet. :P
5. My little sister (roughly 3 years younger) is taller than me. I wear heels and she's still taller than me. :/
6. Little kids used to annoy me. Now I love them! I work childcare at a fitness studio and I teach Sunday school at my church!
7. I LOVE Big Time Rush! I've seen them once in concert, and I'm going to see them again on July 7th! (Thanks to Boyfriend. He spoils me... :) Love him so much!)

And the eight blogs I would like to award are......

Now, in conjunction with my last random fact, please enjoy Big Time Rush's new single! It's pretty much the perfect summer song. :)

Getting Stuff Done...

Like a boss!!!

Did I really just type that??? Yes. I did. And while I find the term slightly annoying because of its overabundance in use, I think it describes my day thus far!

If you read nothing else, please go to the bottom and watch the video! It is absolutely beautiful. Even if you have never heard of Avatar: The Last Airbender or The Legend of Korra, you can still appreciate the video for how wonderfully it is put together.

Today I awoke at 7:48 am and forced myself to go back to sleep. During summer I should not see any time before 8:30... Once I finally crawled out of bed at 10, I exercised and went through my usual morning routine. After I had lunch, yes by then it was lunchtime, (ask Boyfriend how long it takes me to get ready in the mornings!) I read a chapter in my Crisis Com textbook, listened to an online lecture (I'm currently listening to another!), replied to some emails, wrote an assignment for class, and started my internship proposal. All before dinner!

After dinner I went to a fitness class at the fitness studio where I work (I get classes for free!), came home and hooped for an hour straight, caught up on my blog readings, and now I am blogging away myself! I'll exercise a little more before bed. Just cause it makes me feel happy. :) Endorphins and what not!

I know I've mentioned this before, but the Midwest is ungodly humid! Retched... Anyway! My top is from Aeropostale, shorts were thrifted, the necklace is from Forever21, the fedora from Target was on sale!, and my shoes are from Cato!

An absolutely breathtaking video! Nearly brought me to tears! Every time I watch it!

CALLING ALL COLLEGE FASHION BLOGGERS!!

I'm sure many of you are a part of the online community Independent Fashion Bloggers. Well, I thought to myself the other day, wouldn't it be lovely if all of us collegiate bloggers had a place to congregate?

I think so too! :)

Thus, I created the group College Fashion Bloggers on Facebook! It's just a great place to network, promote, and share opinions with other bloggers just like you! You can also post links to your most recent blog posts, giveaways, and other interesting tidbits you find online!

What's even cooler? Every month we will be featuring a different blogger as our cover image! Talk about promotion! CFB is here to help you! Have a giveaway? We'd be happy to post a status about it!

I really think it's important to not only gain followers, but gain FRIENDS. What better way to do this than by using the largest social networking site on the web? This group gives a a great way to get to know other bloggers in our age range and see what they have to say about the great exciting world we call Fashion.

Check out College Fashion Bloggers! Let the bonding begin!!! :)

Floral and Fabulous...

and beautiful memories to match!

I hope everyone had a fabulous weekend! I know I did! :) This weekend my family went up to St. Louis for a mini-vacay! It was super relaxing and very much needed. We visited the St. Louis Zoo, Missouri Botanical Garden, and... St. Louis Galleria!!!

But all that came in second, of course, to the time I got to spend with Boyfriend. :) Since he lives so close to St. Louis I got to see him nearly every day we were there, as well as, have our families meet! It was pretty perfect. Our families got along great!

Yes, this weekend shall be recorded in the record book as just lovely. :)

I really love this outfit! While I don't remember exactly where the shirt and shoes are from (sorry!), the skirt is from Body Central! I love how bright colors go with my now tan skin! :) The necklace was a gift from Boyfriend! <3

The rings and large pearl bracelet are from Claire's , the small pearl bracelet and smaller diamond ring were gifted to me, and the other bracelet was designed by my lovely aunt! I'm also wearing Avon nail polish!

We saw so many animals at the zoo, but this guy had to be the most photogenic!

The Missouri Botanical Garden is so beautiful! If you're ever in the St. Louis area, I completely recommend it! :)

Boyfriend and I! Summer definitely is a bittersweet situation. ^_^

Hope everyone has a fabulous week! I'll be reading up on all my missed blog posts! :) I love being unplugged for the weekend, but now I'm so behind!! :O ;)

It's a Beautiful Day in the Neighborhood...

As I have stated in previous posts, it is ridiculously humid here in the Midwest. To beat the heat most residents do the usual- chill at the pool, grab frozen treats, or, my tried-and-true favorite, stay in the cool air conditioned indoors. However, when I do venture outside, I make sure what I am wearing is light and breezy (and stylish, of course!)

I love sheer tops! I know I've said this before, but I can't help it! They are so breezy and light! This top from Body Central has to be one of my favorites at the moment! It has a double layer of sheer ruffles at the top so a necklace is not necessarily needed, though I added a long key necklace. I've also worn this top with a brown/grey cardigan, making the piece quite versatile! Both the navy shorts and jean top were thrifted. The shoes are from New York and Company and some of my favorites, as well!

My bracelets we all bought in Guatemala, though the bottom left bracelet was made by my aunt (she owns a jewelry business)! My rings include- my purity ring, my senior ring, and a ring purchased in Florida during a trip.

So how do you beat the heat??
