Haul: Guatemala Swag!

Just a quick haul post!

I've been saying I'm going to do one for the wonderful things my family sent me from Guatemala, so here it is! I'm so blessed to have such a giving family! I miss them all so much!

Now... On to the haul!!!

I LOVE these earrings! So beautiful! I've already worn them! (I'll be doing an OoTD with these darlings! ;P) I also had to include the package they came in because, well, its just so pretty!

My aunt MADE all this! She designs and sells jewelry, and lucky me to be one of her favorite nieces- I always get some! :D She is so talented!

Here are some more "tipico" or ethnic jewelry.

I LOVE the necklace! 100% handmade- from beading the necklace to the little clay figurines! Wore them in an OoTD post! :)

Again- handmade! Its awesome how they can write so small, isn't it? My dad also bought me a cell phone charm on which a guy wrote my name... On a grain of rice! But I forgot to take a picture of it... :(

Some more fancy earrings! I love them all! So unique!

A belt bracelet! My dad got my sister and I each one with different charms!

Here you can see some of the detail in the bag my grandmother sent me. Again- completely handmade! I love that these kinds of bags are in right now! So big- I can put absolutely EVERYTHING I need in it- and then some!

My grandpa sent me this. :) He is such a softy on the inside! ^_^ I love how light the blanket is! It is perfect for summer! It's ridiculously humid here in the Midwest!

Well, if you made it all the way to the bottom of the blog post- congrats!!! There is a delicious cookie headed your way in the near future! (okay, so I don't know if there is, but wouldn't that be awesome! :D)

Pretty In Pink....

Or That's What I was Aiming For... :P

So I have not felt well the last couple of days (I have migraines...) so I have not been taking many pictures. Or dressing up for that matter... at least not in anything worth blogging about. So here I am posting some older pictures. Not really OLD maybe about two weeks. Anyway, tomorrow I am determined to have a good day!- health-wise and outlook-wise! :)

I'm also going to be taking a quick trip back to my goth days- yes, in high school I went through a goth phase- and having an elegant gothic lolita inspired photo shoot with my sister and possibly her friend!

Oh! And one more thing! I am still going to do the haul of all the Guatemalan swag my daddy brought me back! Being sick really does put one behind schedule...

So Typical...

Yet So Unique!

So as stated in my previous post, my daddy has returned from his 3 week trip to Guatemala! Yes, while a couple of weeks with just "the girls", i.e. my mom, my sister and myself, was nice, by the third week we were very ready to have him home. :)

As is common with any trip we take, my dad brought back lots of souvenirs! My family in Guatemala is so giving and sweet! I have decided to do a haul post in a few days on everything my family sent me, but, for now, I am just posting an outfit of the day featuring a few of the wonderful items I received along with two clothing pieces I picked up! ^_^

It's all in the details! I love this necklace my aunt sent me and the earrings are simply adorable! :)
My dad bought my sister and I each a belt bracelet and a few charms and my grandmother sent a bracelet with my name on it. ^_^

I love that the top has a hood!

Top, Shorts and Sunglasses: Body Central
Shoes: Rue 21

Other Accessories: Guatemala

One More Quick Note...
Since my dad was gone on Father's Day, we waited to celebrate until this evening. So what did we do? Went for burgers! Now, now, now... These aren't just any burgers... these are Squeezeburgers! Yes, we drove quite a ways just for these amazing burgers, but that's what my dad wanted- so that's what he got! :)

I enjoyed every calorie. :)

Feeling Blue....

Blue Jean Actually!

Well it's been a while since I posted so, as I sit on the couch enjoying the relief medication gives me from these incessant migraines I have been having as of late, I find myself drawn to the wonderful world of fashion blogs. I already caught up with my list of bloggers I follow, so now I am posting something myself!

So if you've read my Haul Blog, you'll know that my father was in Guatemala for vacation visiting his parents. Well, I am happy to announce he is now back and in one piece! And he came home baring gifts! Little gifts from my grandparents, aunts and uncles, cousins, and a few items he picked up for us himself- as is our culture. And let me just say- I love everything! I am so blessed! ^_^ My sister and I were sent a lot of jewelry, as one of my aunts makes jewelry and everyone else knows we love it! And the best part? It's all "tipico"! That means authentic! And since the Boho style is so in right now, I was so excited! My grandmother sent me an AMAZING "tipico" bag and I can not wait to use it! I styled an outfit just for that! Definitely doing an Outfit of the Day for tomorrows look! :D

Maybe I should do a blog post on the souvenirs? Whatcha think??? :)

I Love.........

Sales!!!! :)

Don't you? Well, last Thursday my mom and I had to go to a funeral. :( My great great uncle died. I didn't know him very well- I'd only been to his house once. He was 80-something, and lived a full life.

Well, before and after the funeral, my mom and I decided to go shopping. Don't think ill of me! D: We had to drive an hour and a half away for the funeral, and with the prices of gas, we figured we should make the best of the trip. Makes sense no? Ahem... As, I was saying, we went shopping! And I am glad we did! There were so many sales! And, if you know me, and most, if not all, probably don't (at least not yet! ;D) I love sales! P.S........

You Love Me!

Well summer continues to pass. I am kinda happy with how it is going though. I've gotten quite a bit done! Er, not really... I've been blogging, working around the house, and just plain working. I now have a routine. I feel as though I need to be doing MORE. Summer isn't meant to be spent indoors! That being said, I would like to report that my sister, our friends, Rachel and Jessica, and myself had a water fight! Balloons, guns, the works! By the end, we were drenched, but we had a good time! And that, my friends, is what summer is all about! :)

DIY Flower Clip!

So I was walking through Wally World a couple weeks ago and came across these adorable flower clips! (I looked for a picture but couldn't find one... :S) I really liked them, but hated to pay $5 for something I could make myself. (I'm cheap like that!) So the crafty side of me took over and I rushed to the craft isle, picked up a packet of clips, felt, and then bought some flowers at the Dollar Tree and ta-da! Adorable flower clips a la Arantxa! :)

So below are are instructions on how to make these clips!

First you will need...

Felt, Scissors, Hair Clip, Fake Flowers, A Hot Glue Gun, and Hot Glue Sticks

Pull off the green part of the flower and snip off the part of the center that pokes through.

Then using TWO hands (I could only use one as I was holding the camera with the other!) put some glue on the bottom of the flower, including the little bit of the end you didn't cut off and place a small square of felt over it.

Then take a small rectangle of felt and place it in the middle of the clip.

Place some glue on the clip and some of the felt and place it on the felt that is connected to the flower.

And voilĂ ! A cute, affordable flower clip! Perfect to brighten up any outfit! :)

If you had trouble with the instructions here, go to my Youtube Channel to see a video on how to make it! :)
